POPULATION
Be Informed
Earth's population is forecast to be 10.9 BILLION people by the year 2100. That is a 40% increase on today's population of 7.7 billion.
On top of the obvious 40% increase in resources, food and energy required to service that growth, developing countries will place further demands on resources. It would not be unreasonable to expect the demand for resources and energy to be 50-60% higher by the year 2100 than it is today.
Keep in mind that it is unreasonable for those in developed countries to expect developing countries to not greatly increase their energy use. It is therefore the responsibility of developed countries to lead on climate change and the environment.
Population control is an unachievable and unacceptable concept to governments, so it is therefore imperative that action begin now.
